Because of how Chris Mosby runs his blog on myITforum.com, covering security and Symantec, he was approached over the past couple days by Symantec themselves. They want to set up a call with him to discuss how they can start interacting better with our community.
First, congrats to Chris for doing such a great job! Chris has had many opportunities come his way, lately, due to his dilligence and hard work and the respect he has in the industry. I count it a blessing to know Chris and to have watched him climb the industry ladder over the last several years. It was only a few short years ago that I met Chris and his wife personally at MMS when it was at the MGM Grand. (remember the long walk by the pool?)
Secondly, this is a great opportunity to all of us. As Chris works out the details, I’m positive that this will ultimately benefit this community as we can get a great deal of information from Symantec as they want to work through Chris to provide content, news, and information. Quite honestly, Symantec’s reputation in the industry and also in the many Enterprises they call customers has seriously dwindled over the last couple years. It’s great to see Symantec may finally “get” what it means to be a successful company by interacting with community.
Who remembers the Symantec booth at MMS 2007? They were right across from the myITforum.com booth and were flabbergasted at how many folks visited our booth, yet passed on by theirs. (this is them, over in the back right of the picture)
And lastly, you may not think about this right away, but do you realize what this means to you, individually? Chris got noticed by contributed to a blog on myITforum.com. Do you want industry recognition, too? Do you want to further your professional and personal career? All you have to do is ask for a blog on myITforum.com and get started. It’s simple, it’s free, and there are no obligations, no post quotas, nothing that would keep you from feeling comfortable.
Already have a blog somewhere else? That’s cool. You can still have one on myITforum.com or even move yours here so that you can get the recognition and traffic that you really want. And, if your other blog runs on Community Server, like ours does, Community Server has a feature where you can post once to your blog and it will automatically show up on myITforum.com. Pretty neat, huh?
So…all you have to do is drop me an email and your new blog can be setup in a matter of minutes. We’ll even send you a return email with all the information and instructions you need to get started, get blogging, and get noticed.
