2007 will be dubbed “The Year Software Ate Your Hardware.”
As I’ve chimped about previously, I loaded Office 2007 — it slowed my computer down. I installed Windows Vista — my computer slowed down even more. Well, now Windows Mobile Device Center (the new connection software for Windows Mobile devices on Windows Vista) — has slowed my computer down even further.
When I plug in my Windows Mobile smartphone, the hard drive on my computer hits for a while, applications become unresponsive, and I get to sit and wait until WMDC makes it’s connection. I feel like I’m in rush hour traffic. Stop. Start. Stop. Start. Run application. Wait for application. Type a few sentences. Drink a sip of coffee. Drink another sip of coffee.
Granted, my computer is about 3 years old, and I’m *hoping* that has something to do with it. So, today’s the day. I’m off to purchase a new computer for myself. In a recent post I asked for your help in deciding which computer to buy. Thanks to all of those that responded!
I’ll post soon about which one I actually get, along with pictures.
