You decide what my next PC will be...

My TabletPC is getting older and slower…and I really feel less productive now.  So, I’m going to get another computer soon.

It has to be a TabletPC — I simply can’t work without a TabletPC anymore.   Once you switch, you never go back.

It also has to be a convertible TabletPC, i.e., it can be used as both a TabletPC and a laptop.  There are certain situations where using it as a TabletPC just isn’t feasible and the laptop form factor makes more sense.

Consequently, I also HATE touch pads on laptops.  I can live with it — but would rather not have to deal with it.

So, if you have any experience with my criteria, let me know.  I want something fast, dependable, able to run Windows Vista, 1–2GB of RAM, and a large, fast hard drive.  And, of course, something with a Trackpoint option instead of a touch pad.

Here’s what I’ve come up with so far…

The Gateway® CX210

The HP Compaq tc4400

The ThinkPad X Series

The Toshiba Portege M400-S5032

NOTE: The ThinkPad seems to be the only one without a touch page — so depending on the reliability factor — I may have to “settle” for a touch pad.  I’ve never been a fan of IBM computers (except in the old MicroChannel days), but I’m actually leaning toward the IBM model.

Should I add any more to the list?  Do you have any experience with any of these models?
