Dang Google

So, I see that there’s a security issue with WinZip 10 today.  I drop out to the WinZip site, download the update, and start the installation.  During the installation of the latest revision of WinZip 10, I’m confronted with the following screen (and, of course, the checkboxes were auto-selected for me — I unchecked them immediately):

I understand that WinZip doesn’t exactly release patches.  Their policy is to release a full installation even to fix security problems.  I can live with that.

Google is everywhere — even in an update of WinZip meant to fix a security problem.  What if Microsoft did something like this?  What if your next security patch from Microsoft contained an advertisement for installing the Live.com IE toolbar?

This is just wrong on so many levels.
