Digg this -- mobile reporting?

I’ve been getting into Digg.com more and more — so that has started up my thought machine.

As I posted earlier, Digg.com isn’t very kind to Windows Mobile devices, phones, or other PDAs due to the way the site renders in a mobile browser.  It’s slow.  And, good luck on trying to post a new news item while mobile.

Wouldn’t it be cool if Digg.com developed a mobile version of the site/service?  Think about it.  Digg.com could then enlist the help of folks worldwide as “mobile reporters”.  Give these mobile workers the ability to quickly and easily post as-it-happens news stories from the field, complete with uploaded pictures of the scene using the photo options on most of the new mobile phones.

This is the future of reporting, in my opinion.  Maybe, Digg.com will be the one to do it.  Maybe, someone else will take my idea and implement it.  Maybe, I’ll try my hand at it.  Who knows?

From a myITforum.com perspective — think about how valuable this would be when IT folks attend technical conferences and conventions.
