Why myITforum.com never Spams

I receive emails to the myITforum.com Admin account periodically, from folks that want to unsubscribe from the daily newsletter.  There’s nothing wrong with that.  The thing that bugs me a bit is when those emails go a bit over the top and suggest that myITforum.com is a Spammer.  That has never, and will never be true.  I’ll tell you how I know…

There is a specific process put in place on purpose, that ensures members never receive an unwanted email from myITforum.com.  Here it is:

1. Sign-up for a myITforum ID.

2. Receive an email that accepts your membership.

3. Visit the site and login with your username and password.

4. Manually select the checkbox in your profile to start receiving the newsletter. (this checkbox is not selected automatically.  You actually have to click your mouse in the checkbox to receive the newsletter)

Additionally, there are specific instructions listed in every newsletter on how to unsubscribe, and I also include the Admin email address so anyone can drop a quick note if they are having problems.

Spam is a serious problem, and as you can see we went to great lengths to keep myITforum.com off of the Spam lists.  Sure, someone could report us, just because they either a) can’t read, b) are too lazy, c) are ashamed that they forgot their username and password, d) are ashamed that they left their username and password on a sticky note on their desk and someone used it, or c) just simply don’t like us.
