One thing bugs me about the IE 7+ designation

As you have probably read elsewhere, Windows Vista will come with IE 7+.  Microsoft uses this designation to separate the different IE versions between Windows Vista and Windows XP.

The Windows XP version will simply be called IE 7 (without the plus).

The thing that immediately comes to mind, is if there will be a way through SMS/SC to differentiate between the differing versions, for software distribution, patches, and updates.

I guess you could simply inventory for all IE 7 versions based on the OS it’s running on.  That’s one way to do it, but, I’m wondering if there will be an even better method for pinpointing the IE version.  Inventorying IE has been problematic in the past.
