I was just thinking…how soon do you think before someone will develop a virus that is sent using an RSS feed? There’s blog Spam (which we all detest), but how long before viruses show up in the RSS feeds?
With all the hubbub about RSS, I’m pretty sure it won’t be long before we see some kind of virus outbreak associated with RSS. Maybe, I’m just waiting for the sky to fall, but I’m now starting to build my cast-iron umbrella — because I know it’s coming.
Sure, you have to subscribe to a RSS feed on your own, but how many folks can be duped into subscribing to something that “looks” safe, but in reality is not?
I think it’s time to start keeping an eye out for this. I wonder if the AV vendors are thinking the same thing? Can a RSS feed be monitored for viruses?
