1E's Drag and Drop for Packages Application

I just read the post from 1E on the new FREE tool they have that will let you drag and drop packages from folder to folder. So, I registered on the site and thought I should check it out (I like drag and drop). Here are my initial thoughts.

1. I was unable to connect to the primary SMS server from my workstation. To me, that's a drag itself. Every time I open the application I am required to enter the server name and site code. Why don't people have applications just remember these things?

2. I was able to run it on the server without issue. My first thought was that it would let me use the SMS console, but it is a simple .exe that shows all your current folders and packages.

3. Hmmm... although I already have several package folders with items in them, this tool implied that all the folders were empty and I had to “drag and drop“ items into the folder one time for the application to know that they should be there. Ok, so that's more work I have to do even though the folders are already populated.

4. I have several hundred packages that do need to be put into folders. Once I highlight the package(s) to drag and drop it into a folder, dragging is really lacking here. I had to push the mouse up to the top and it's slow as dirt to move the list up. Correction, if you highlight a package, to scroll up you need to right click the scroll window and select Top. I am attempting to be fair with my initial thoughts.

Personal opinion, try it for yourself, but I think I will stick to the default options in the SMS console until something else comes along.
